RAWR (:
Hey people! Your seageneral/gp rep is here (: (y'all must've felt really glad that I've finally brought 3 weeks worth of newsweek from the pigeon hole to the class bench)
Its been a really long time since I've posted, and I'm glad to see many changes to both the blog and the class :D
And looking at hongling's post makes me feel deeply inept on my role as the gp rep. Anyway please do your CIP haha. And your GP o.o
Its two weeks to 2nd intake if y'all just realised. Hence, I believe there's not much time for fun, laughter, peace and joy since people will generally start to really touch their books and notes and stuff after first three months. So PEOPLE. LET YOUR HAIR DOWN FOR THESE TWO WEEKS. DO SOMETHING YOU'VE NEVER DONE BEFORE. EMBRACE YOUTH. Maybe the whole class should pon something together and get CS x).
Random. But if y'all want to go ahead! Do try to make it for STJ/JTS if we do ask y'all about it soon though :D
Anyway, see y'all tmr! (:

(P.S. I think using "align center" is cool. Try it!)

I read Miss Liew's entry and I have to say, thanks Miss Liew for helping us to reflect on our views on CIP!

Hmm. Just thought I'll share about my own CIP experiences? (To me at least that's a change for the better from my usual brainless blabbering)

The organisations I have been involved in fall generally under two loose groups - children/youths and the elderly.

Lion Befrienders and Touch Community
I believe all the NY girls would know about them, since these were the main organisations NY worked with. I've been on visits to nursing homes twice, and both times left me feeling guilty for my lack of fluency in dialects. It was really sad, because the aunties and uncles were so appreciative even though all we did was to sing songs and make small talk with them. It reflected on how lonely and emotionally neglected they were.

Peer tutoring in p5/6
It really humbled me because our peers were so eager to learn, and very sincere and grateful. And we were really, really proud of them because they did quite well for the PSLE Science papers. (which I recall were tricky) One of the guys got an A, even though he sprained his wrist on the morning of the exam.

Service Project: Bridging World Musical
Some of us then-sec2s worked with a group of Down Syndrome youths who had talent in the arts (mostly theatre and singing) and two visually handicapped and EXTREMELY talented musicians, Wai Yee and Jafar. We really learnt a lot through interacting with them and the youths' highly supportive parents. It was quite sad that because that the musical didn't work out because the director was a very busy man and he couldn't fork out enough time to see it through.

Guides
I had a lot of opportunities to volunteer with my guides. For one, we adopted a child, Beth, under World Vision's scheme to help poor children worldwide have a good education and find a warm foster home. I'm glad to see she's getting healthier and improving at her studies. We've worked with PUB and Manjusri Sec Sch to do household chores and install water saving devices for some old folks over a couple of weeks.

We also work a lot with the organisation APEX, which caters to a big range of beneficiaries. The most recent activity was planning an islandwide Flag Day with them early this year. Most of my batch and some of my seniors went back to help.

Which brings me to a point I brought up before, but since no one responded, I will nag AGAIN. APEX is once again holding a funfair for children with special needs, mostly likely in the middle of the year. The aim is to let the children really have fun, without the usual scrutiny/eyeballing/gawking they face in public. Ok, I admit I haven't done my research to find out the details of the event yet, but based on my experience when in NYGG, it is a small scaled event, with about max 80 children. There would be about 10 stalls, consisting of food, games, face painting and the like.

The reason why I would help out with this event is because it REALLY is very rewarding to see the children's faces light up, to know that at least for a few hours, you brought them joy and laughter. (Yes I love kids though I'm not that good with them)

So. Where do we come in? We can volunteer to set up some stalls, or work as escorts for the children, bringing small groups of them around and looking out for their safety and other needs.

Coming up the proposal isn't too much of a problem, if you all are interested, I will definitely come up with it. (of course after much discussion with you guys and APEX) If you all are afraid that there isn't enough manpower, we can rope in our sister class/senior class/other ARES classes. OR if you all don't mind, we can work with my Guides juniors.

Yea so people please tag in response to the CIP suggestion okay? BIG THANKS!!

ct session today was pretty packed. content wise. and i must say that some of the things that were brought up were pretty thought provoking. saw many of you nodding... but not in agreement i suppose. ha :)

anyway, this really brings back memories!

when i was in secondary school, there was compulsory CIP (as is the case today) and basically, we went to various children's/old folks' homes. the thing about these visits is that we only went to each home once. it was pretty much touch and go. my deepest memory was a children's home we visited. we put up a skit for the children and we had a whale of a time preparing for it. it was the story of the "3 little pigs", and all of us who acted were really camping it up and enjoying the process. i guess for us then, it's probably another one of those "official" events which gave us a legitimate excuse to just fool around... the children enjoyed it of course and it bonded us as a class.

in jc, i joined interact club in my second year. i remember that we went to this hospice to visit the sickly elderly. we had programme lined up for them and it was basically to sing chinese oldies like "yue liang dai biao wo de xin". so we went, a whole busload of us, waiting to execute the activities we had planned, like the bright-eyed task driven perfect over-achievers that we were. when we began singing the songs we had prepared (preparations meaning last minute revision on the bus-ride to the place), one of the residents told us to stop singing. we were pretty shocked because, like hello? do we sound that bad? are the windows breaking? but more so because, well, we knew at the bottom of our hearts that we didn't have anything else planned... and worse of all, most of us could not speak dialect. in terms of the ability to hold a decent conversation, many of us were inadequate. i can speak hakka but most elderly understand only teochew or hokkien, of which i speak nor even understand neither. upon hindsight, it must be really annoying for the people at the hospice (or any other homes for that matter) to have different groups of students swarm in on them every other day, insisting on singing the same old songs, with the same old uncertainty. the awkward silences. never moving beyond "have you eaten". never seeing the same face again. what is the point of such visits? really. who are we helping? are we merely assuaging our conscience? telling ourselves that, hey, i am a good person. i do cip...?

in university, i joined mentoring. basically we had secondary school students as our mentees, and we were supposed to help them in their studies and to counsel them. it was a weekly affair for a year. through this, i formed fast friends with the mentors assigned to the same school. after my year of mentoring ended, the bunch of us still helped out with planning the programme for year-end camps for a few more years. through the constant interaction with these youths, i have learnt patience and to never give up. when you really care for someone, your actions will naturally speak of this concern. the hope that the person will fulfill his/her potential, not for anyone/anything, but solely for him/herself. because he/she is capable of it. it is important to constantly care becaue, i believe, when you start to care less, one tends to become careless with one's words and actions...

an amazing thing (cliched as it is) about helping others is that in the end, you are the one who benefits the most. not in a condescending oh-my-gawd-i'm-helping-the-less-fortunate-i-should-be-so-glad-i'm-not-them way, but in the way that because of the interaction, you see yourself more clearly, you see others more clearly, you learn about life around you, beyond you...

i'm sure many among you have actively volunteered at some point in your life. so, keep up the good work! :) those who are interested should sign up for the citibank-ymca youths 4 causes. if not, you can always be a part of the various activities cip has lined up for the school :)

hope everyone has a good weekend! rest well and see you on monday! :)

Yo people... whee... listening to Lifehouse's "You and Me" gets me shamelessly sappy and romantic... Add to the fact that I'm tired. Therefore the rest of the entry is not going to make sense =(

Haha... Today is Thinking Day!! Or for the Scouts, it's Founder's Day. I'm sure all those from NY would remember NYGG's delicious fundraising items (it's funny how the nanyang guides are always remembered for being motherly, and always ready with yummy food) It sounds vaguely sadistic but I do miss footdrill and parades... all the sweat, blood (yes some of us do bleed from blisters) and all that bonding... And whoever thinks that footdrill is "just walking only mah" would get socked in the face by moi. Try marching out there in the freaking hot sun in full uniform and black boots that feel like they're burning your feet off for a couple of hours and you'll be enlightened.

I want to sneak back and watch the parade on Friday morning! And skip flagraising. But I suppose it's not a good idea ><><>

Hope no one else is falling sick... Take good care of your voices everyone! I'm trying to follow the "huang cheng diet" of no fried stuff for the next two days to save my voice but it really feels like ling2 shi2 bao4 fo2 jiao3.

[Disclaimer for the skit during CT session] Whatever happens. No matter how lame. No matter how much you feel like wringing your hands and throwing rotten tomatoes at the 8 of us. Please watch the skit and do not lynch me when you next see me!! Overlook everything and listen to the underlying message okay.

Blah I think I'm gonna get nerves... ELDDFS acting debut in front of 1000 people *cringe*

To end off, interesting food for thought: I've been in touch with a lot of other ARES c1 classes. And it seems. We're like the only class which does not have blatant fan clubs and perving sessions at our two Fac Heads ><>

Okay. Really not making sense now. See you guys tomorrow!

Sigh, once again I am neglecting my homework to do more important things, like post on the class blog. Oh yay. Someone tell me how to do GP and Econs.

Okay anyway... For those of you who didn't come, here's some pics from our fun! and exciting! outing today :)

Marilyn and I sat around stoning and taking stupid pictures while the rest played Bridge with her cards, which had super un-hot guys on them. And then we played Daidee, and I pwned everybody with my mad rad skillz. :) BOW TO KING YANAN. Yeah baby.

Our ugly bowling shoes. Pro Yiyuan was first! Marilyn was second, and I was third. :) I know, we are so awesome.

And then... we headed over to play frisbee and Daidee in the grass, and I pwned everyone again. :)

Marilyn and her $4 Frisbee That Cannot Fly.

(Wah why do I keep talking about Marilyn??)

Finally, we went to PS for dinner + dessert + arcade. So fun.

Yuxuan and his cool umbrella, yo.

Jasmine! (Okay so I'm an idiot and can't focus properly.)

Generous and chivalrous Dijie offers Jasmine his dessert. (Hahaha look at her expression.)

Okay that's all! Sorry I am damn sian now. Arrrrrgh. We've been cheated of one day of holiday! Life is so tragic it sucks. In the meantime, I leave you with a video of Yiyuan getting tricked by Kelly at Burger King (re-enactment only). This is my first time uploading videos on Youtube leh! What a milestone in my life as a loser.

Alright, byebye my friends :) Take care those who aren't feeling well! <3

HELLO!

ok I got sth v impt to say. I DREAMT TT I RAN FIRST FOR X-COUNTRY last nite! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. o man. ok nvm. but this wun happen la, unless the whole world decided to walk. I've spent this cny sleeping! I sleep till like 1 in the afternoon den cont slping again from 3 to 9. den wake up for dinner, slp again... till i feel a little dehydrated now.

Rachel is our new classmate. Super fair. She's a nice gal like me. likes to pon PE like me. slps like a pig like me. but she doesn't eat a lot :( all in all, rachel is a nice gal (just like me) welcome raCh ;P

. Thanks guys for the great job for our cny stall! I think in future we can have a more efficient manpower delegation system so u guys dun have to drain urselves yea. BUT THANKS A MILLION for the sweat n blood (if any) tt u guys put in. hahaha it was certainly heartwarming to see our class pple forcing n coercing (ok la only me) pple to buy. HAHA. tts class spirit :) haha. n also, Ms Liew who came down to help us clean up the stall.

yea we've known one another for 3/2 months. And i think u guys had been a great bunch of pple. haha... I can see our class is super enthu about blogging! Don't come for slightly about two days and there's an explosion of new posts...

I'm just going to talk abt whatever comes to mind. So I'm sorry if this is not in any coherent order whatsoever.

Rachel! TAKE YOUR HP NO OFF THE BLOG. I mean seriously. It's not safe. Unless our blog is password protected like the snr's one, which it is not.

YAY. Thanks Jasmine for once again not putting up my photos. I love her man, she takes my photos but they always look too unglam to be put up. MUCH LOVE DEAR

Thanks Yanan for the compliment! Even though actually I can't quite dance to save my life. I guess Supermassive Black Hole is an aphrodisiac for dance ;) and I can help minimally with the coding if you send it over... I learnt a little abt using others' codes and adapting them because I can't understand html for nuts.

Eh SC's house damn far from Sheng Shiong leh. Even with the LRT and all. Ten mile junction is super out of the way for practically everyone. But I guess they probably had dirt cheap prices due to its ulu-ness? The last time I went there was a couple of years back ><

Haha... I agree that we si chan lan da/ employed "mei ren ji" to get people to buy our stuff... I recalled I had the last 4 ice pops on hand and since no wanted to buy it, I paid for it and gave it out for free. I can't remember who took the first 2 from me, but thank you Yee Kai for taking the last two. Yea our seniors class was really supportive of us!! Thank you dear seniors!!

Hmm... it just occured to me that CNY in HC is actually quite diff from back in NY... The atmosphere here is defintiely higher, what with Fac Dance and CNY stalls, but I also miss the traditional things we used to do like (attempting to) write chun lian while (doing our best to) keep our hong zi clean... [Gossip: the new principal can't speak chinese for nuts even with han yu pin yin written for her. argh. What's happening to our preservation of Chinese culture?]

Yea even though this is the class blog, the next part is dedicated to my angel, since I can't get into theirs: JUN HONG YOUR PERFORMANCE DURING CNY ROCKS!! [I'm sure Eileen thinks so too ;)] Ok I started off biased already because I LOVE THE SONG THEY USED. Explosive by Bond.

Anyone knows how much Fac points we earn for everything? Like Dramafeste and Faculty Dance. I know the score board as of mid january was ARES 40, APOLLO 45 (they won filmfest and got 15 more), ARTEMIS 60 and ATHENA 100. CAN SOME KIND SOUL UPDATE ALL FACULTIES I'M SURE WE ALL WANT TO KNOW THANKS.

Ok, enjoy CNY! And don't get flu (like me ><) Will miss you all!

qinsheng says:
Hey y'all homies (:

Firstly, I'd like to congratulate our class for making a huge profit during yesterday's CNY celebrations!
Secondly, CONGRATULATIONS TO ARES FOR WINNING THE CNY FAC DANCE COMPETITION! Ares rocks yeah <3.

Anyway, this was how the day/night went for the icepop delivery crew (:

Thanks dijie and simchun for making a trip down to ten mile to get the icepops at 6 cents per stick! I can imagine how difficult it is for two people to carry 6 X 9 kg of icepops back. And dijie you perv, looking at simlin ><.

Then at 10pm, me calv yiyuan and yuxuan went to simchun's house to get the icepops. But then we realised. THERE WASN'T ENOUGH SPACE FOR 500 ICEPOPS. Luckily lynn's mum was able to go around and finally find a place at the 7-11 near coro to store our icepops. Thanks a lot :D

After that really busy period, we went to calv's house to slack, while simchun had to squat at home cause his father didn't allow him to :(. His house is so neat and organised and spacious not to mention a whole load of trophies in his room and a cute brother (: heh. Headed to cineleisure kbox to meet some a13 seniors + shiuyuen. Honestly, it was a pretty wasted trip. We wasted 22 bucks on the cab fare (due to some dumb fat driver who apparently doesnt know where he's going and was trying to keep awake all along) and then 8 bucks on kbox, in which we pretty much stoned (i was dozing off) for around 30 mins except for yuxuan, who was really into singing zhangxueyou canton songs.

calv, yuxuan and me (obviously sleeping)

We then wanted to go pool together, but kpool closes at 3:45, and we didnt want to waste an hour's pool money on 25 mins of playing. So in the end we joined the seniors at youth park. Had a pretty good guy-to-guy talk while seniors were practising fac dance at the road side.

in the midst of emptiness;

After that we just cabbed to calv's home (wasting another arnd, 14 bucks?) to take a lil rest, before leaving for school. Now that explains why the four of us were looking like zombies yesterday.

Ahhhh. I guess I should stop here now. I wasn't feeling really well physically and emotionally yesterday. So see y'all on wednesday and have a HAPPY chinese new year! :)

HAHA today is 除夕 and i just wanna wish everyone a happy Chinese new year. Phew everyone...good job on the sale of Ice Pops and Michale Jackson, it was hard work, but we manage to earn quite a bit and this money is surely going into the welfare fund for great uses.

Sim Chun and i had a hard time trying to transport the Ice pops to his house...haha...his muscles were aching by then. I saw Sim chun sister, now i can visualize how Sim Chun would look like if he was a girl (no offense, your sister is quite pretty)

Hmm...what do you all think? What are we going to do for our JTS? lets give some ideas guyz...everyone shud blog...not just the usual people.

Yeah! Ares won the inter-fac dance competition! Haha. The cool part is that everyone in the faculty is involved in this! haha. Chao cool. We didn't get a good start this year, but I think we are catching up. :)

Haha. It was lots of fun selling stuff together. And it started out a bit screwed cause what we planned to sell and what we sold in the end was totally different. We wanted to sell almond jelly and home-made pop ice, somehow in the end we sold grass jelly and factory-made pop ice. Haha.

And our prices flunctuated like hell la. Pop ice started out at 2 for $1, in the end, it was 5 for $1, at one point I think it was 7 for $1?

And sim chun was shouting like hell for people to buy ice pop. Haha. " Calling all aresians, buy the ares red ice pop!" Then there was also apollo yellow ice pop and so on lor. Haha. But he was shouting like hell to sell off stuff, you rock!

But I thought our hygiene was kind of screwed? The ice..... (shan't say too much) haha.

But at least we earned a decent sum la. Haha. Not too bad considering that we planned so little. And it was quite exciting selling stuff cause the time was short.

Fac dance! Yeah. I'm super glad we won la. Haha. And the "Ares love *name* " thing was very cool lor. The fac comm put a lot of effort lor. And the red cloth to tie around our hands. haha.

Tmr is CNY eve. Happy New Year. It's quite a long break so everyone make use of it to do whatever you want hor.

Time flies. 07A13 have been together for 1 and a half months liao. And so much have happened. Class item la, class banner, valentines, CNY stall. Haha. I'm sure there will be more to come. :)

praying the ice will melt

Post the others some day bah.

Happy new year!

YO!

So WE DID DONG SHAN ZAI QI and BROUGHT THE HOUSE (in this case central plaza) DOWN!! Great job everyone on the enthusiasm and sexy grooving. And thanks Ying Han for being my dance partner! Haha... there were so many people we didn't have enough space for some of the moves...

And thanks everyone who was so hardworking and enthu about the stall! The guys for the ice pops/ice, the girls for the chin chow! I hope everyone had (very sticky) fun despite all that chaos and ice pop liquid squirting everywhere. How much did we earn?

Rachel! How come you didn't come? I hope you were well... Hmm I just realised that you have our contact list, but we don't have your number!!

By the way, the seniors want to STJ next Fri evening at someone's house, but we told them about the huang cheng people, so maybe they may push it to the weekends... Do you all want to do a pot luck for JTS?

ok, have a great new year break!! gotta go!

love,
hong ling

Hello! Hope you all had a fun and exciting Valentine's with your hot and sexy dates ;) ;) Thank you for all the lovely notes and candy and stuff! Haha, and thanks Yinghao for the present! :) I agree with Rachel, that was real nice of the guys. Sorry I'm quite a loser and didn't do anything for you all. :/ Well, hope you enjoyed V'day anyway! A13 is so much love. <3

By the way, I think Blogger really sucks. I can't get the bloody layout up 'cause the codes are so cheem. Arghhh. Then again I'm probably just an IT noob.

Why do we keep mugging during our breaks? It's really depressing man! Relax! Save the homework for Econs lectures!

I think we should take more pictures to post on our class blog! Then it'll be more exciting with lots of eyecandy for everyone. Hurhur. I shall bring my camera someday.

YO MY PRECIOUS A13 DARLINGS! (Including all seniors, and grand seniors e.g. our marvellous CT!)

Ok, first off: HEY RACHEL! I hope you're feeling much, much, MUCH better by the time you read this... Take lots of rest, k?

And to A13: THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!

Wow. I have never ever celebrated Valentine's to this extent before... crazy running around, exchanging gifts, hugs, thank yous, everything...

ANYWAY. So thank you EVERYONE once again, for all your gifts and love notes k! I don't think I need to list; you guys know who you are!

Yea and thanks guys for making the effort to buy the hairbands! (Though I kind of felt traitor-ish wearing the blue one ><) However my favourite is still the bunny ears ;)

Oh and um, I'm REALLY SORRY if I made anybody cry during GP okay? I didn't meant to! I mean yes, the story was sad, but I thought it would only affect me... Anyway, as I said, TREASURE YOUR LOVED ONES EVERYDAY. (Remember Ronan Keating's If Tomorrow Never Comes and the irony of the lines "Finally a chance/To say hey, I love you" from You Light Up My Life)

So. Ares didn't do well for Cross Country. BUT THAT'S ALRIGHT. WE WILL DONG SHAN ZAI QI! Show them who's boss during FAC DANCE COMPETITION K! (It'll be the biggest fac event till CSM) Anyone who wants to learn the fac dance do ask fac comm, or anyone else who knows, or I could help you limitedly, seeing that I know the dance, but I'm not a good dancer...

Hope everyone isn't overly burned out from this afternoon... drink lots of water k! And if you get muscle cramps [Read: the muscle contraction kind, aka labour pains in a different part of the body] stretch and unstretch the muscles slowly!! It hurts like hell, but yes, do it. It'll help lots, as I've found out on numerous occasions... Whatever you do, DON'T TENSE UP!

much love,
hong ling

Haha. Hey guys. First time I'm blogging here. Apparently, because there's no huang cheng today so I'm not reaching home that late lor.

Since it's the first time I'm blogging here (I know it's quite late...), I must say 07a13 rocks! haha.

Today was valentines. Hope everyone had their own share of fun, with your angel/mortal, your batchmates and classmates! Today everyone was sort of in a crazy mood?

And today's fire drill was sort of screwed?

Then it was cross country. Haha. I guess today quite a lot of people walked? Haha. 爱情长跑!

Hope everyone had a nice valentine, whether you are attached or not. :)

CNY coming soon, get into the festive mood!

Nitez.

Hi people. Writing Valentine's Day notes/doing gifts are driving me nuts ><>

Okay. Randomness prevails. We've brought this up many times before, but in the light of cross country, I am extremely tempted to talk about it again =) *gives in to temptation* So. WHY DIDN'T WE WIN CAMPFIRE ITEM?! Considering how often people have been talking about ai qing chang pao in recent days... We need to copyright the phrase man...

Yea anyway. Hope whoever went for Fac Dance had TREMENDOUS FUN! Besides the fact that we were probably dead tired towards the end, good job everyone for the enthu-ness in learning the dance! And and and whatever you do grab a partner for Friday k? Any random ARES person will do! (You'll know what I mean if you experienced being paired up randomly like yours truly did today)

Okok. Enough nonsense. You can see I'm cracking under the pressure of trying to finish my remaining 20 plus notes... Don't worry! I FINISHED 07A13's ones liao! Woots!

Ok. Love you people! See you tomorrow!

yay here are the videos as promised! i finally figured out how the get the embed video to show up. never underestimate the power of the html tag, haha.

firstly though, allow me to introduce you all to a strange creature known as guo bin, whose self-proclaimed favourite hobby of all time begins with the letter w, or m, for that matter. he will be in charge of traumatizing you all for the rest of the post. enjoy :)

guo bin is attempting to imitate akon. "attempting", being the keyword here.

the LT falls prey to his antics part deux: in which he gets no love despite emoing

actually, he also gets no love even when he's not emoing.

qin sheng, sim chun, ezra and yuxuan show us red hot ARES <3

my math tutorials ate up the first 1/3 of the video, gomen. XD WE LOVE FAC DANCE!

oh btw qin sheng, may you get more sleep! unless you want to permanently MOG yourself. XD

EDIT: AARGH the videos are slanted to one side for some reason. If you want to see them in the correct dimension, you can go here: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=onestopheaven

Hello people, yuxuan here and im posting for the first time. Dramafeste people who brought cameras can you all please post e pics? I didnt bring my cam!! > <

Ares brought the house down and everyone knows it : )

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, must make/buy stuffs for you angels and mortals k! And for whoever else you wanna give it to.

AND THEN HOR, we should have a JTS SOON!! ANY IDEAS?? Some of the guys thought of doing JTS and STJ together at e same time by going for a chalet. In that sense where seniors treat juniors for e accomodation and juniors treat seniors back for e food. Or the other way round. Some of us suggested it shuld be soon, during a weekend, meaning fri, sat, sun. Some of us thought that we should have a JTS outing FIRST. THen after that do the chalet idea, during march hols or sth. But march hols we'll be missing out some of the OAC seniors. Hm..

How does it sound? : )

First of all, welcome Miss Liew to our class blog!!! =) Glad to read the entry!

Okay I checked with my Glutton (guides) batchmates and the what the funky black people of Artemis won was the Best Supporting Actress award. But I guess what the judges really meant was the Best Chorale award. They spooked me out on Thursday (even though I watched the rehearsal) and it took some (of my chicken) guts to go out of the LT alone to continue with my ushering/bouncer duty.

For the NY girls, in case you all didn't know: Mr GARY TANG came and watched Dramafeste on Friday!!! Kind of miss having him around... drama's not the same without him, I guess.

Yu Xuan, Sim Chun, Qin Sheng: YOU AWESOME PEOPLE! I guess you all have heard enough praises so let's not overdo it... Anyway kudos to Sim Chun for being brave and getting emo even though everyone else still can't (BUT REALLY OUGHT TO) get the gay Orientation Campfire image out of their heads.

Thanks especially to 07a13 crew - Yanan, Jasmine and Lynn - plus Edlyn and Jacq, for entertaining me when I was tired/sian! And Yanan and Jasmine and Ying Hao for running crazy errands for me, including getting standing tickets for Eileen and friend!

And thanks Miss Liew for your compliment =) We were after all supposed to be "walking decorations" for razzle dazzle!

JIA YOU CSC dudes! Don't let the CSC test kill you!!

my hearty congratulations to all my bright sparks who took their 'o's! lucky 7! we got blackjack! hahha... lame, i know. well done eileen + keith + calvin; you rock! :) it's nice to know that everyone will still be together after the first 3 months! :)

for the rest who are considering changing subject combi, now is the time to give it serious thought. find out from your friends what the subject, that you're thinking of changing to, is like. look at the lecture notes and what your friends have done so far. it should be a pretty good guage of what you would be doing for the next 2 years and think about whether it is something that you would like doing. :) remember, passion goes a long way! even if you're not good in something, as long as you have the heart to try, you would eventually succeed :)

last night was the first time i watched dramafeste in hwa chong and i must say that i really enjoyed it! i loved ares' play! i know it sounds really dodgy and biased because we are *cough* from ares. but hand-over-heart, it was good! those who went to watch the play would agree i'm sure! :)

the night of drama began, rather appropriately, with some drama on our side. i'm glad kelly + marilyn + their china buddies managed to catch the play in spite of some *erm* slight hiccups at the beginning ;) thanks to eileen + jessamin + yiyuan for being so sweet and considerate! hope you managed to get a good view from where you were! it's really thoughtful :)

as hong ling (who looked really sweet and demure in her lbd) has already pointed out, ares was the biggest winner of the night! :) yeahhhh! even if we did not win some awards, it does not mean that we did not shine in those aspects! :)

yuxuan was really good! shedding real tears on stage is no mean feat man! :) and now that you guys have pointed out, qinsheng and yuxuan do share an uncanny likeness. no wonder rachel cannot tell you guys apart, yet. haha. :) and qinsheng is really scary as a ghost. i got such a fright when you stood behind me in your creepy make up! sim chun was really convincing as the emo kid. haha.. it's really not easy to be emotional without people laughing at you! so well done to our actors! :) i was really moved by the play and i must say it has a really enthralling plot that was captivating because of the finesse of your execution! :)

also!!!!! kudos to yan an who was part of the sound team, for crouching in the dark throughout the play, playing music at the appropriate places; jasmine as part of backstage, valiantly and efficiently running in and out with the props; and lynn as part of the lighting team, for the smooth transition of the lights that added to the suspense of the play! well done everyone!!!! :)

now that dramafeste is over, there is huang cheng to look forward to! :)

to everyone who is vvvvvv busy with rehearsals + training (of all sorts!!), i know it is tiring-physically, emotionally, mentally-and sometimes you just cannot fight persistent zhou gong who wants to schedule a meeting with you. but do try your best to keep up in whatever way you can yah? :) take care of yourselves! try to get enough rest and drink more water.

see you on monday! monday jams are pretty bad, so those who have a tendency to reach on the dot, try to set off earlier so that you can be on time in spite of the heavy traffic! :) in the meantime, enjoy your weekend!
