Hey peeps,

I know most of you are already going for Dance Night, but I would really like to make a last call for Drama! How The Other Half Loves is a romantic comedy full of spills and thrills, wit and action. It'll definitely be worth your time and money!

I know there's no impetus to watch because most of you don't know the cast members, but we're trying valiantly to save our long-standing tradition of putting up a main production every year. If the response is poor, it'll end this year and I don't want to deny future batches of drama-enthusiasts from something I love as much as them.

Hey guys, paiseh I only put up suggestions for CIP now ><

The organisation we're considering (and almost certainly) working with is the Melrose Home, a branch of the Children Aid's Society. Melrose Home is situated next to Ngee Ann Poly (very near KAP/BTP). It provides a nurturing environment for children who require residential facilities, and aims to help these children return back to their families as soon as possible.

I think Kelly's idea of a zoo excursion is very cool! Heh shall attempt to expand it based on my experience in guides:

Instead of a simple walk-around, let's have a mini amazing race for the children! We can split them up into small groups, and we can be their game marshalls. They'll have to go to various exhibits/places based on clues they are given, then do tasks at the stations (we are also station i/cs) to earn points and the clue to the next station. The tasks would be simple and easily within their abilities, like a simple song-and-dance or treasure hunt. The tasks can be related to flora and fauna, so we can spread the message of conserving the earth in a fun manner!

Things to note:
We have to find out age group of children (I forgot to ask >< And it's not on their website) to tailor the activities to their liking

Children get tired/restless easily, we probably can't make them walk extremely long distances. Even with breaks & refreshments in between the activities shouldn't be too long, so must plan route carefully

Need to reccee! Last time I went zoo was in sec 4, think it's changed a bit >< Who's been to the zoo recently?

Kids probably have their favourite must-see exhibits! (e.g. polar bears and animal shows?) So must factor into the trip~

Costs. I think we should pay for it, regardless of whether the Melrose Home offers to share the bill. Do our part for those less fortunate than us =) It's a good incentive to keep costs low and sensible too.

I'm sorry I'll be fairly busy after school almost everyday till May 18th due to ELDDFS' SYF/main production these 3wks... so uhm I can contribute to discussions during school hours and at night. After that should get better...

Well firstly I would like to thank the juniors for being so ON! Thank you for adhering to the theme and came all dressed up... in all yr cute PYJAMAS haha!

Let's take a look at what we did for STJ. Shall we?

Before STJ started, all of us were warming up at diff corners of the hall, waiting for the party to get started. So some of us played the table soccer:

Yoz A13s!!!! Are you guys feeling excited? The long awaited STJ is finally here. Here are some things to look forward to:

1. NICE YUMMY FOOD: There is a variety of food ranging from lip-smacking finger food, to delicious meat, to tasty vegetables and even mamamia dessert! Its totally heavenly!!!

2. A WHOLE LINE-UP OF FANTASTIC GAMES: Fret not! The seniors had came up with fun activities to spice up yr mundane life! So while eating, you can have some FUN! Just be sporty and join us in the games. Guarantee that yr night will be one of the most MEOMORABLE one!

3. WACKY THEME: How can a party not have a theme? Well the theme of our STJ is “dare to DREAM”. Ah I anyhow say one. Anyway you guys MUST come attired in yr PYJAMAS! Those without will have to do forfeits (you will never want to try them ☺). Also yr pyjamas MUST be unique and authentic, meaning it is not just shorts and shirts, but really those cute outfits! (Please dress decently and PLEASE BE CLAD IN CLOTHES!) Not only MUST you be dressed according to the theme, you MUST also bring along stuff to enhance the wacky idea. For instance, you may bring along yr teddy bear, wear yr sleeping cap or bring yr bedroom slippers. Just anything that will add bonus to make the whole theme a success!

4. PRIZES: Attractive prizes are to be won. There may even be the crowning of Miss and Mr best outfit or wadeva. Just come and you will fond out ☺ heehee

5. GETTING TO MAKE FRIENDS: This is one of the rare opportunities that the seniors and juniors can bond and get to know each other. So don’t let this chance slip by!

1.Nearest MRT: Bukit Batok MRT
From the MRT, get to the interchange right next to it and take 173. The journey is approximately 10-15min so unable to count no. of bus stops(quite alot). Can ask the bus uncle, the bus stop to alight is hillview green. It is when the bus goes through a roundabout and the first stop after it goes up the hill. By then u will reach bus stop NEAREST to the condo! Then walk to the green apartment just across the road!

2. From bus-stop right outside school
Take 171,170,961,67 and alight at 4th stop after Beauty World, Bukit Timah Shopping Centre. The busstop should be like under a hill. then walk up the long stairs nearest to the busstop and walk all the way up the hill till u see the green condominium.
Other buses at the bus stop: 178,75,184

3. Take a taxi! Just give the above address ☺ Smart hor!

From the hilarious Orientation skit, to the acting (on and off stage haha, you drama queens/kings), to the occasional happy-bonding breakfasts (which I "emotionally blackmailed" you into), to the BELOVED black book, to the occasional chit-chats and The Secret, to the "wo mian fei" Fos, to the treasue hunt at the beach, to the many many laughy, heart-warming moments that cannot be written down, because there are just too MANY of such instances :) I will remember them...

In the coming year, continue to strive hard in all that you do. Study hard and play hard! Always treasure the friends you have around you, because they are the ones who will see you through when the going gets tough!

Enjoy the holidays and recharge for the new year ahead! Take care and of course, laugh more!

Our SuShi day .. (: (: (:

We were supposed to attend this G.E.M. module - Sushi-making. Everyone was pretty excited about the lesson, walking up to the classroom with some 'experts' in class demonstrating how he/she is gonna make the sushi later.. and minutes later, we all arrived at the classroom (:

then the teacher distributed the ingredients to us. Theres cucumber, egg, crabstick, rice.. oh yes! water ( i shall elaborate more bout the water later.) and we were all 'disgusted' when we saw the bowl of rice and those plastic sheets given out to us.. ( yes, some hygiene concerns here and there..)

then our instructor started demonstrating..

Yo yo pple! Let me now update on another class event - GIRLS NIGHT! It happened on a very nice date, 07/07/07! It was indeed a pleasant and unforgettable night ☺ 8 girls turned up in all. Thanks those who came despite you had something on before that. 辛苦你们了！(Liping got my add wrong and ended up waiting at admiralty’s Mac. But she managed to take the very last train and reached my house around 12.45am!)
Now lets look at the pictures taken to have an overview of the memorable night!

We started off by watching DEATH NOTE 1. Since we needed to keep awake, someone suggested that we have supper and she volunteered to cook. Guess who cooked? (Clue: The cook of the day was a 21st century African lady). She has a very unique way of cooking. As shown below, raw egg WITH SHELL placed with noodles in hot boiling water. This unique way of cooking made us wonder if we made the right choice to request for supper ☺

And the outcome of this is… … inedible uncooked eggs! Yucks!

And I am honoured to announce that this lousy chef is our very own 07A13 aunty - Kelly Shia! (applause)

After eating we played twister mat. Mingle mingle, the four of us nearly died while playing! But we got all stretched ☺

While the 4 of us were being tortured, the game master was happily laughing away at us. Then Kelly bathed and sat on the sofa and commented “你们很好笑！”While LP continued her beauty sleep.

After the game, we decided to watch another DVD – NANA! LP and Kel were well asleep so left 6 of us awake. So 6 survivors at the start of the show and while the show was playing on, 1 by 1 went to meet 周公. The sole survival of the whole show was Eileen (Queen of movie marathon)but expected cos she was the highest of the night. :)

Morning the sun rose up and shone on our butts. Jas woke up 1st followed by me, Yanan, Jessamin, Eileen, XR then LP. But a pig was still asleep. So we ate almond longan while waiting for our sleeping beauty.

Finally about 10am our sleeping beauty woke up with a “wow” kind of hairstyle.

Before we all left for breakfast, we took our last shots.

Wonderful. And this marks the end of our 07/07/07G GIRLS NIGHT! It was a great success! Yeah!

Yo pple the blog really dying liao so I shall add some posts. (*sorry for the late updates though.) Shall first post the class outing to Sentosa on 02/07/07.

At first 19 pple say can go but at the very very last min, lots of pple back out and in the end only ME, YANAN AND LIPING turned out in the morning! So we didn’t go Sentosa but shop around at Vivo till the rest if the pple joined us in the afternoon. So in the end, it was a class gathering of 11 pple☺ Hope next time class outing can involve more pple.

More people came and we decided not to stay in Vivo but go to orchard for movie.

Went to orchard, but we thought that movie was a bad idea so we ended up in Yoshinoya, where Calvin started his ‘intellectual talk’.

Ahhh haven't posted in class blog for very long. I feel guilty about it =\

Anyway, was at Volunteers Fair. I guess I should update the class about the state of our CIP (and lack thereof)

The Apex funfair that was proposed last term didn't work out because I couldn't contact the organisation despite repeated attempts, so I'm looking for new avenues now...

Just wondering if you all prefer an SL project with more hands-on and direct involvement with the organisation, or one that's more fundraising based? Or do you all want to be involved in C-africa or the can project (sorry I forgot the title ><) which Yiyuan's involved in?

There's also a SL project my guides are doing - beneficiary is Andrew and Grace Girls' Home. There are many options to choose from, the one I signed up for was setting up a booth at a fundraising carnival they are holding. It's on 17th Nov, post promos. We can do this as a class if you all like =)

Ok, that's all for now... I think I'll bring it up again when we have class meeting!

hello!!!!

hmmm...i was just thinking since our class blog has been deserted for so long...when kelly,yuxuan come back from africa will surely be quite disappointed,so i shall add new post!!!! Since jessamin n i returned from our ocip trip, i shall share some of the pictures here!!!!!!=) YingHan can share his cambodia one if free n others who came back from trips or even took picts in spore do share ok! WE ARE A CLASS! NOT STRANGERS!(2 yrs tgt is not short,nor is it long...but if we just let it pass like that...it'll be a lifetime of regret.trust me.)

Hmmm...basically, jessamin n i together w other 23 GREAT frenz in hwa chong n 3 wonderful teachers n 2 terrific facillitators, went to China, Yinchuan, some place near inner mongolia for ocip! though some may think spend $$ go ocip for 10 days may be alittle ex or waste time...etc...but the experiences earned, the memories, the lessons worth so much so much so much more.... We went there to teach eng,handicraft,comp lessons, painted murals,refurbished library,helped do up their dorms n played w e kids!!!!!! all of us MISS it there LOTS!

Yo peeps! Today is 28/05/07, Mon. The day that our dear Ling Huan, Yiyuan, Lincoln and Ruo Shuang say bye bye to us and hello to Australia! Anyway yesterday morning Jessamin and Eileen flew off too (sorry tat we can’t send you off, hope you guys enjoyed yourselves too)

Well I quite jealous of them leh cos we still have to stay in Singapore to pia our hist term assignment while they are away enjoying themselves! But don’t sulk, cos when they return, they have to pia too haha. We all have to pia, its just a matter of time ☺

We actually wanted to watch movie today but ended up only Liping, me, XR and Hongling went. But we watched anyway... watched Spiderman3... met Rachel and her mum there. Then we had lunch and proceed to airport where I took my fav sky train haha ☺ So here are the pictures that we took at the airport:

1) It's really, REALLY very funny. I've read some of the script myself and can vouch for that.
2) If you like campy, this is it. (Think Michael aka Rui An at Dramafeste, in a British context)
3) Over the top, crazy characters. Including the campy lead actor, a lecherous, high sex-drive woman, a highly entertaining psychic and a fluffy oddball.
4) Even though people often think HP/ELDDFS = CHEEM CRAP, the equation does not stand. It really is quite easy to understand. Besides, no one is going to speak in some funny accent we've never heard of before
5) Hee Zeng Xun! Those of you who have caught the Dramafeste and YAWP filler items would recall the hilarious, side-splitting brotherhood led by Zeng Xun. He's quite incredible, and he's our lead actor. So, if you're a fan of his, do come!

I know there's very little persuasion to go for this production, because most of our class doesn't know any of the cast personally, and Dance Night are on the same dates. I want to watch Dance Night too! Though obviously CCA comes first.

But I digress. Maybe you can watch Dance Night on one night and Tiptoe Through The Tombstones on another?

Ok ultimately I can't force anyone to go, but if you do want to come, Gracias and I truly appreciate it!

Yay as promised I am going to blog after my hectic week of 3 tests, 1 quiz, 1 Unseen and 1 essay!! But first up:

Above is the map of the vicinity around The Pines Country Club, pic courtesy of their official website. Buses which stop at the bus stops shown in the map are 105, 132 and 190.

Basically if you either alight directly outside Pines or opposite Pines (stop after RGS) depending on which direction you take.

All the buses are available in town, common stop is Far East Plaza, and 190 also covers Dhoby Ghaut/Orchard area (Plaza Sing, Ngee Ann/Taka and Someset MRT stn)

105 commutes between Serangoon Interchange and Jurong East Interchange. Can also be taken from Tao Payoh MRT Station, Clementi MRT Station and Dover MRT Station

132 travels between Hougang Central Interchange and Bukit Merah Interchange. It can also be taken at Thomson area, Macritchie Reservoir and Red Hill MRT.

190 service is between Chua Chu Kang Interchange and New Bridge Road terminal (at SGH) The journey from CCK to Pines passes through Bukit Panjang area then goes by expressway. As mentioned before, can take from town.

If you go from school and you can transfer bus at Macritchie (132) or take to opp SJI/SCGS (like if you go j8) then cross the overhead bridge and take 190.

I won't go into details because you all probably won't read/need it. Most bus stops should have the info and you all are smart people =)

Hmm does anyone know how to transport a cactus to a larger/higher pot? My Guides juniors gave me a baby one for farewell last year but the stem is too narrow for the head and I want to use a higher one so I can use more soil to stabilise the base. But the last time I handled my cactus I had a handful of needles. Ouch ><

I know everyone's been busy with tests, homework, cca and what not, but please, please, please don't forget that we are a class! Remember how we were so zi-high and together during Orientation? Since Fate (or insert what you believe in) brought us together then let's cherish this time together as a class... Being a united class is not something that happens overnight - we gotta work to stay together. Even if we are not used to hanging out with people outside our own circle of friends, let's make the effort to understand and accept each other!

Eh I hope that meant something to you all... just my two cents' worth...

Hey people! It's qinsheng here, back from weeks of preparing for council elections and organising a last minute weekend scout camp. Coming/staying in school everyday for two weeks has never felt so good.

Whee... doing Lit homework is killing my brain cells >< We're supposed to research on 18th century Britain. And I'm supposed to do Dress/Costumes. Which may not actually be apt for me, even though you would think a typical girl would be interested in fashion. I happen not to have the patience to sit down with fashion magazines and note trends and such. I just anyhow-hantum-and-whack-if-it-looks-good-and-it's-affordable-then-buy-it, if and when I go shopping.

My only saving grace is that I have some sort of interest in ancient Western dress style. That is, 14th-18th century.

But I can't complain because I think the rest are having it worse ><

Oh and I am thinking of printing out class photos, labelling the faces and giving them to our new classmates. I guess it would help them remember the names more easily? Any objections?

Hey people =)

Huang Cheng was AWESOME!! Thank you all the Huang Cheng Ren for putting up such a exhilirating performance! You all really put SO MUCH EFFORT into props, lights, and sounds to make the whole thing even more believable. And the acting was quite superb too!!

Kelly, you were SOOO GOOD!! I loved your character! Eileen was convincing; I could feel the lady's 心酸故事... And the emcees really hammed it up =) For a moment I thought it was a rehash of dramafeste when Ying Han came out with the ghostly makeup... [Mian Rong is so adorable =)] And Kudos to Jessamin, Marilyn and Ying Hao for your contributions to make the show a success as well!!

A pity I couldn't stay on after the show to tell you all that in person... =s But anyway, I'm sure everyone loved you all too!!

And just a side note, to thank the 06A13 seniors for keeping a lookout for my sis =) [She was sitting upstairs] Made me more 安心 to know my sis wasn't alone.

And also, by majority vote, if we run short on manpower, we will ask if our senior class would like to join us. [except Lincoln, who thinks we should work with my guides juniors] Let's take this one baby step at the time. Ok, random thought: If cameras are meant to capture accurate images of people, then why is it that some people are "photogenic", whereas others are not? Yesterday, the ~~His~~ Her Highness the Crown Prince Yan and her (?) third wife went on a date.

They had dinner at ~~some ulu-ated and crammed~~ a romantic spot.

The Crown Prince showed off ~~his~~ her prowness (in eating) by accidentally squirting chicken juice onto the window in front.

They also probably ruined both Nanyang's and HCI's reputation by attempting to camwhore at A HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE LOCATION (crowded orchard underpass), as demonstrated above.

I could cry doing P and C. I was attempting to do the Tutorial just now - attempting being the keyword - and despaired after Question 1. Cos the only answer I got right was the 1a). Damn weird lah. P n C is supposed to be the super easy topic that no one has questions about but I screw it up big time. Then while people are moaning over Trig, Integration and Differentiation, I get smug because I have little problems with those. [Of course I have my wonderful one-and-only tuition teacher cum cousin-in-law to thank for the latter]

Just curious. Do the other girls already wearing the HC uniform get weird comments too? One guy told me I look like a J2 (He claims that's supposed to mean matured, but it could also mean old) another told me I look cute and a third told me I look better in it than the NY one. What rubbish.

I don't know if this matters to you all, but HC (JC section) was the Biggest Winner at YAWP! One of the teams emerged champs, plus we won Best Solo Performance and Best Original Poem!

For those who don't know, YAWP stands for Young Adult Writers Perform. It's a poetry recital - organised by ELDDFS Lit Wing - that is NOTHING like the usual reading/analysis of a poem. It's practically drama and theatre here. YAWP's open to other schools to compete in.

Somehow I'm glad I got accidentally involved in YAWP. (I'm in Drama wing, not Lit.) But Kai Jun (YAY FELLOW ARESIAN) and I were asked to do front-of-house, so we did =) At first I thought YAWP would be a little dry, especially for those not into poetry, but it's actually quite fun to watch. It gets more and more intriguing.

And as usual, my LD seniors were damn good hamming it up for filler items. (I think we're gonna find it hard to fill their shoes)

Haha. The lit people may find one of the poems quite significant to our valiant (failing) attempts at digging deep into poems.

I spent yesterday hunching L-like and trying to think up of Japanese names for you guys!

Don't ask why, haha. It was an oddly difficult task, as I soon realized after embarking on my first attempt (with Rachel's name). We were both complaining why it sounded so nan2 ting1 as it evolved from Kogi Mumuko (倖義むむ子) to Hitsugi (羊) to Hoshisakura to Hoshiko. XD

Then when I found out that "Jasmine" would be translated into 木犀 (motsukei) I WTFed and gave up. We should have a Yakuza family tree! =D

Ok. So still nobobdy wants to talk about doing CIP, I shall be PROACTIVE about it and mention it in class. Once the history test next week is out of our faces... I'll try and get my research done by then. But then. I'm the only noob in this class with no broadband interenet access. It's painful sitting around waiting for a site to load. [E.g. Hotmail just opens in a flash for you guys, for me it's a matter of minutes]

I read Miss Liew's entry and I have to say, thanks Miss Liew for helping us to reflect on our views on CIP!

Hmm. Just thought I'll share about my own CIP experiences? (To me at least that's a change for the better from my usual brainless blabbering)

The organisations I have been involved in fall generally under two loose groups - children/youths and the elderly.

Lion Befrienders and Touch Community
I believe all the NY girls would know about them, since these were the main organisations NY worked with. I've been on visits to nursing homes twice, and both times left me feeling guilty for my lack of fluency in dialects. It was really sad, because the aunties and uncles were so appreciative even though all we did was to sing songs and make small talk with them. It reflected on how lonely and emotionally neglected they were.

Peer tutoring in p5/6
It really humbled me because our peers were so eager to learn, and very sincere and grateful. And we were really, really proud of them because they did quite well for the PSLE Science papers. (which I recall were tricky) One of the guys got an A, even though he sprained his wrist on the morning of the exam.

Service Project: Bridging World Musical
Some of us then-sec2s worked with a group of Down Syndrome youths who had talent in the arts (mostly theatre and singing) and two visually handicapped and EXTREMELY talented musicians, Wai Yee and Jafar. We really learnt a lot through interacting with them and the youths' highly supportive parents. It was quite sad that because that the musical didn't work out because the director was a very busy man and he couldn't fork out enough time to see it through.

Guides
I had a lot of opportunities to volunteer with my guides. For one, we adopted a child, Beth, under World Vision's scheme to help poor children worldwide have a good education and find a warm foster home. I'm glad to see she's getting healthier and improving at her studies. We've worked with PUB and Manjusri Sec Sch to do household chores and install water saving devices for some old folks over a couple of weeks.

We also work a lot with the organisation APEX, which caters to a big range of beneficiaries. The most recent activity was planning an islandwide Flag Day with them early this year. Most of my batch and some of my seniors went back to help.

Which brings me to a point I brought up before, but since no one responded, I will nag AGAIN. APEX is once again holding a funfair for children with special needs, mostly likely in the middle of the year. The aim is to let the children really have fun, without the usual scrutiny/eyeballing/gawking they face in public. Ok, I admit I haven't done my research to find out the details of the event yet, but based on my experience when in NYGG, it is a small scaled event, with about max 80 children. There would be about 10 stalls, consisting of food, games, face painting and the like.

The reason why I would help out with this event is because it REALLY is very rewarding to see the children's faces light up, to know that at least for a few hours, you brought them joy and laughter. (Yes I love kids though I'm not that good with them)

So. Where do we come in? We can volunteer to set up some stalls, or work as escorts for the children, bringing small groups of them around and looking out for their safety and other needs.

Coming up the proposal isn't too much of a problem, if you all are interested, I will definitely come up with it. (of course after much discussion with you guys and APEX) If you all are afraid that there isn't enough manpower, we can rope in our sister class/senior class/other ARES classes. OR if you all don't mind, we can work with my Guides juniors.

ct session today was pretty packed. content wise. and i must say that some of the things that were brought up were pretty thought provoking. saw many of you nodding... but not in agreement i suppose. ha :)

anyway, this really brings back memories!

when i was in secondary school, there was compulsory CIP (as is the case today) and basically, we went to various children's/old folks' homes. the thing about these visits is that we only went to each home once. it was pretty much touch and go. my deepest memory was a children's home we visited. we put up a skit for the children and we had a whale of a time preparing for it. it was the story of the "3 little pigs", and all of us who acted were really camping it up and enjoying the process. i guess for us then, it's probably another one of those "official" events which gave us a legitimate excuse to just fool around... the children enjoyed it of course and it bonded us as a class.

in jc, i joined interact club in my second year. i remember that we went to this hospice to visit the sickly elderly. we had programme lined up for them and it was basically to sing chinese oldies like "yue liang dai biao wo de xin". so we went, a whole busload of us, waiting to execute the activities we had planned, like the bright-eyed task driven perfect over-achievers that we were. when we began singing the songs we had prepared (preparations meaning last minute revision on the bus-ride to the place), one of the residents told us to stop singing. we were pretty shocked because, like hello? do we sound that bad? are the windows breaking? but more so because, well, we knew at the bottom of our hearts that we didn't have anything else planned... and worse of all, most of us could not speak dialect. in terms of the ability to hold a decent conversation, many of us were inadequate. i can speak hakka but most elderly understand only teochew or hokkien, of which i speak nor even understand neither. upon hindsight, it must be really annoying for the people at the hospice (or any other homes for that matter) to have different groups of students swarm in on them every other day, insisting on singing the same old songs, with the same old uncertainty. the awkward silences. never moving beyond "have you eaten". never seeing the same face again. what is the point of such visits? really. who are we helping? are we merely assuaging our conscience? telling ourselves that, hey, i am a good person. i do cip...?

in university, i joined mentoring. basically we had secondary school students as our mentees, and we were supposed to help them in their studies and to counsel them. it was a weekly affair for a year. through this, i formed fast friends with the mentors assigned to the same school. after my year of mentoring ended, the bunch of us still helped out with planning the programme for year-end camps for a few more years. through the constant interaction with these youths, i have learnt patience and to never give up. when you really care for someone, your actions will naturally speak of this concern. the hope that the person will fulfill his/her potential, not for anyone/anything, but solely for him/herself. because he/she is capable of it. it is important to constantly care becaue, i believe, when you start to care less, one tends to become careless with one's words and actions...

an amazing thing (cliched as it is) about helping others is that in the end, you are the one who benefits the most. not in a condescending oh-my-gawd-i'm-helping-the-less-fortunate-i-should-be-so-glad-i'm-not-them way, but in the way that because of the interaction, you see yourself more clearly, you see others more clearly, you learn about life around you, beyond you...

i'm sure many among you have actively volunteered at some point in your life. so, keep up the good work! :) those who are interested should sign up for the citibank-ymca youths 4 causes. if not, you can always be a part of the various activities cip has lined up for the school :)

Yo people... whee... listening to Lifehouse's "You and Me" gets me shamelessly sappy and romantic... Add to the fact that I'm tired. Therefore the rest of the entry is not going to make sense =(

Haha... Today is Thinking Day!! Or for the Scouts, it's Founder's Day. I'm sure all those from NY would remember NYGG's delicious fundraising items (it's funny how the nanyang guides are always remembered for being motherly, and always ready with yummy food) It sounds vaguely sadistic but I do miss footdrill and parades... all the sweat, blood (yes some of us do bleed from blisters) and all that bonding... And whoever thinks that footdrill is "just walking only mah" would get socked in the face by moi. Try marching out there in the freaking hot sun in full uniform and black boots that feel like they're burning your feet off for a couple of hours and you'll be enlightened.

I want to sneak back and watch the parade on Friday morning! And skip flagraising. But I suppose it's not a good idea ><><>

Hope no one else is falling sick... Take good care of your voices everyone! I'm trying to follow the "huang cheng diet" of no fried stuff for the next two days to save my voice but it really feels like ling2 shi2 bao4 fo2 jiao3.
